False alarm...so far
After going off the medication as of Thursday, Katie had a contraction maybe every 10 minutes. Our doctor said to go to the hospital if her contractions happened every 5 minutes for an hour. Well, that happened during the second session of the marriage matters seminar last night. We came home and timed them for another hour, where they averaged about every 4 minutes. Then, we called the hospital and then suggested timing then for another hour. This time, she had a contraction every 3 and a 1/2 minutes. So, the oncall nurse recommened we come to the hospital. So, we hurriedly packed and rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival, they hooked Katie up to the monitor for about a half hour, during which she registered a contraction at least every 3 minutes. The nurse checked Katie and she was not dialated AT ALL, but was 80% effaced. The nurse stated that Macy had not dropped, which would happen prior to dialation. After a couple of hours on the monitor, another check revealed very little change. So, we came home, not knowing when Macy may arrive. Now, we are not monitoring the frequency of the contractions, but the intensity. Thankfully, Katie managed some sleep last night. Her contractions have not gotten significantly more intense, but she has pains in her lower belly/uterus, which may be an indication of Macy dropping. So to summarize, she could come any day, meaning today or three weeks from now. If nothing changes tonight, Katie is going to try to go to school tomorrow. What an amazingly tough and dedicated woman! Please keep Katie, Macy and I in your prayers. Thanks and we'll keep you posted!

Good luck! The three of you are in our thoughts and prayers, and I am excited to see pictures of your new arrival! I hope you don't mind that I've been "peeking" in on your blog to keep up with you! I'm so glad that you are doing so well!
Thank you so much for keeping us updated!!! I'm thinking and praying for you. (And by the way, last night Erik said, "Kara, I have the PERFECT name for our next baby, if it's a girl... Macy!!" Haha, I had to remind him that we'll already have a Macy in the family!!)
I KNEW I left somebody off my links when I lost them all. It was you all! I was wondering why I didn't know what was going on with the pregnancy. Can't wait until she gets here.
Y'all are sure in our prayers this week! I can't wait to hear that Macy has arrived!
